Biological - (Biodiversity)

The biological environment is the living component of the environment.  Biodiversity represents the broad range of living organisms of the world, from the smallest viruses and bacteria to whales and other charismatic megafauna.  The living world provides a broad array of what are termed "Ecosystem Services" that link the biological, physical and chemical environments.  AATA provides clients with broad capabilities for dealing with all aspects of plants and animals at project sites, including threatened and endangered species.  The International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standard 6 deals with biodiversity, and is a central component of meeting international standards at natural resource developments around the world.  Biodiversity offset programs are often engaged to seek means to address biodiversity impacts at complex sites.  AATA has worked effectively in ecosystems from the Arctic to the Amazon.
